Positive practice environments are workplaces that support safe,
high-quality care, protect the health and wellbeing of staff, and promote
productivity and professional satisfaction.
For nurses and
midwives, creating and maintaining these environments is essential to ensuring
safe workloads, supportive cultures, and the delivery of the best possible
care.
This one-day course
will give QNMU members the opportunity to explore the Positive Practice
Environment Standards and understand how culture, leadership, and governance
shape safe and supportive workplaces.
Through discussion and group work, you’ll gain practical strategies to
promote and strengthen positive practice models in your own workplace.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
·
describe
the factors that contribute to a positive workplace culture
·
understand
how leadership, work culture, research, and autonomy impact the practice
environment
·
engage
in group discussions and Q&A to deepen understanding of key themes
·
gain
working knowledge of the Positive Practice Environment Standards endorsed by
the Queensland Government
·
identify
practical steps to promote and initiate a positive practice model in your
workplace.
This course is open to all QNMU members and provides 6 CPD hours.
