Our Campaigns

EB12

Queensland's nurses and midwives are the backbone of our healthcare system, delivering exceptional care under increasing pressures amid a global workforce crisis.

To continue providing world-class healthcare, we need a workforce that is supported, valued, and respected.

Private Sector Bargaining

It is through QNMU members being actively involved in enterprise bargaining that we get the wages and conditions we deserve. Strong wages and conditions mean more staff will stay and more will join the workforce.

Positive Practice Environment Standards

Sadly, nurses and midwives often report an inability to deliver the standard of care they are trained to provide due to constraints within their workplace - including poor workplace culture, unreasonable restrictions determined by management, or an inability for nurses and midwives to get their voices heard.

Count The Babies

On 20 July, midwives across Australia conducted an audit that told us the number of babies in our hospitals and whether there were a safe number of midwives providing care to them.

Ratios Save Lives

Thanks to the QNMU, legislated minimum nurse-to-patient ratios were implemented in July 2016 in Queensland Health prescribed facilities.
